Marc Harmon- Leroy Jethro Gibbs

So a few days ago I decided I wanted to draw Mark Harmon who plays Gibbs in 'NCIS'. I tried using a regular no. 2 HB pencil but it totally failed. Then yesterday I gave it another shot using a soft charcoal pencil from Faber Castell and I got better results. I drew it starting at the jaw line and only coloring in the shadows. Charcoal was much easier because I could smudge it around and use it as a paint and my finger as a brush. I think it kind of got warped when I scanned it..
