Pooktre Tree Art
"In 1986 Peter had the idea of growing a chair. Nine years later Peter and Becky became partners. Pooktre was born. Together they have mastered the art of Tree shaping. Pooktre has perfected a Gradual shaping method, which is the shaping of trees as they grow along predetermined designs. Designing and setting up the supporting famework are fundamental to the success of a tree. Some are intended for harvest to be high quality indoor furniture and others will remain living art." http://pooktre.com/index.html

Noel Cruz
"Noel Cruz is one of the most versatile and distinguished repaint artists in the doll community. He is most recognized for his character and celebrity based dolls due to their uncanny resemblance to the people they portray. His dolls are derived from several models like Gene, Tyler, Sydney, etc, by various dollmakers such as Robert Tonner and Franklin Mint. His repaints as well as his portraits are done with intricate detail to the point of being naturally lifelike in essence. Highly regarded among collectors and artists alike, Noel attempts to raise the bar and bring a fresh take to the common mass produced doll with every face he paints." http://www.ncruz.com/about.html

Brazilian Art Fad
In Brazil, artists are making storm drains look more pleasing to the eye. Artists are painting them to look like faces and things.

Garage Door Murals
Garage door murals are pretty cool and it isn't hard to do. Most peoples' garage doors are white or one opaque color. But some garage doors are out of this world. These kids did it in a short story I read in class and they made big bucks from painting other peoples' garage doors.

Dalton Ghetti
Dalton Ghetti makes micro sculptures on the tips of pencils. He has been creating miniscule graphite masterpieces for about 25 years. Dalton uses three tools to create the sculptures- razor blade, sewing needle, and sculpting knife. These sculptures take Dalton from months to years to make. Dalton has over a 100 broken sculptures in a box that he calls 'the cemetary collection.' These are truly amazing sculptures.

Chalk Art
This amazing form of art is not on paper or canvas but on the ground! Chalk artists draw the art on the ground and when you look at it from a certain angle, you see a picture. If you look at it from the wrong angle, it looks like a picture that was flattened or pulled until it was just a long mess.

Robert Frost
When I was in sixth grade, I studied Robert Frost. I had to memorize two beautiful poems that you can read below. Robert Frost was born in San Fransisco on March 26, 1874. He moved to New England when he was eleven and he found poetry during his highschool years. He died in 1938. To learn more about Robert Frost, go to http://www.poets.org/poet.php/prmPID/192

Rose Pogonias
by Robert Frost
A saturated meadow,
Sun-shaped and jewel-small,
A circle scarcely wider
Than the trees around were tall;
Where winds were quite excluded,
And the air was stifling sweet
With the breath of many flowers, --
A temple of the hear.
There we bowed us in the burning,
As the sun's right worship is,
To pick where none could miss them
A thousand orchises;
For though the grass was scattered,
yet every second spear
Seemed tipped with wings of color,
That tinged the atmosphere.
We raised a simple prayer
Before we left the spot,
That in the general mowing
That place might be forgot;
Or if not all so favored,
Obtain such grace of hours,
that none should mow the grass there
While so confused with flowers.
Something inspires the only cow of late
To make no more of a wall than an open gate,
And think no more of wall-builders than fools.
Her face is flecked with pomace and she drools
A cider syrup. Having tasted fruit,
She scorns a pasture withering to the root.
She runs from tree to tree where lie and sweeten.
The windfalls spiked with stubble and worm-eaten.
She leaves them bitten when she has to fly.
She bellows on a knoll against the sky.
Her udder shrivels and the milk goes dry.
